University of Ottawa Heart Institute: A Customized CSI Investigation
Three detective teams. Four actors. One investigation built around “Heart.”
For the University of Ottawa Heart Institute’s Women@Heart group, Slixer transformed the room into an interactive crime scene. Lead investigator Dave introduced the case, evidence and clues before three actors rotated between three tables for timed personal interrogations.
The structure gave every team direct access to the suspects while the actors continued interacting with one another and the group throughout the investigation. We also rewrote the roles, character names and plot with “Heart”-themed details—turning a proven CSI format into a story that belonged specifically to this group.
“Everyone had a great time and yes, there were lots of laughs from the ladies, as well as the actors! The setup was perfect with Dave as the lead investigator laying out the crime scene and providing valuable insight and clues to the three tables of ‘detectives.’ Having the three actors rotate from table to table at designated times for their personal ‘interrogations’ worked well.
The ladies loved that you rewrote the script to actually incorporate ‘Heart’-themed names and narratives into the roles and plot. We appreciated the extra effort you put into that aspect of the evening. It did not go unnoticed.
